GDC Kathua celebrates World Ozone Day

Jammu, Sept 16: Govt. Degree College (Boys), Kathua celebrated World Ozone Day on September 16th. In this Connection, the Department of Botany organised different activities to aware the students about the importance of Ozone to life supporting system of the earth and conducted two different activities during the event viz. Online Slogan writing Competition and national level online quiz competition.
The event was organized by Department of Botany, Prof. Ram Krishan ( Convener and HOD Botany), and Prof. Nisha Bhagat (Organising Secretary), Prof. Rupali Nanda and Dr. Shveta Saroop acted as Coordinators under the noble guidance of Prof. Assa Ram Sharma, Principal, GDC (Boys) Kathua. There was overwhelming response and more than 360 participants from various Colleges and Universities of J&K participated.
Evneet Kour from GDC (Boys) Kathua bagged 1st postion, Sonam Manas from GCW Gandhi Nagar second position, Atul Kumar from GDC Kathua and Pankaj Sharma from GGM Science College Jammu shared third position respectively in the Slogan Writing Competition.
In the Quiz competition on Yoga, more than 335 students from different colleges and universities with in UT of J& K and outside from the UT (Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pardesh, etc.) took part in the Quiz. More than 80 students from the different colleges secured 75% or more and got e certificate in the quiz competition. In the end, Principal of the college applauded the organising team for the successful organisation of events and stressed upon the reduction of uses of Ozone Depleting Substances in their daily life
