COAS and LT Governor discuss internal, external security in J&K | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Sept 17: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Manoj Mukund Narvane and Lt General Manoj Sinha on Thursday discussed internal and external security, particularly infiltration attempts from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). An official spokesman said COAS Gen Narvane met Lt Governor Sinha at the Raj Bhavan here today. He was accompanied by Lt General YK Joshi, Army Commander, Northern Command and Lt General B S Raju, GOC, Chinar Corps. Spokesman said Lt Governor and the Army Chief discussed several important issues related to effective management of internal and external security, particularly in the context of attempts at infiltration and the steps required to be taken for more effectively dealing with terrorist activities. The Lt Governor lauded the Indian Army’s role in safeguarding the territorial integrity and the internal security of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in co-ordination with the J&K Police and Central Armed Police Forces.
