KISHTWAR, Sep 30: A lower court in Kishtwar on Wednesday called for personal appearance of SHO police station Kishtwar in a case of alleged illegal confinement of a Union leader. Taking cognizance of a compliant, the judge Manish Kumar Manhas, JMIC Kishtwar directed for personal appearance of Aijaz Ahmad Wani, SHO Kishtwar in the offences under Section 220, 342 IPC. After hearing Advocate Safder Ali Shoket, Counsel for the complainant, in a case titled Joginder Bhandari Vs Ajaz Ahmad Wani SHO Police Station Kishtwar, the court passed the directions. In his arguments, Advocate Safder said that illegal confinement of the complainant was made by the accused SHO. The complainant had been granted anticipatory bail in FIR No190/20 by the Sessions Court Kishtwar and in the same FIR Police had sought Police remand from Court of JMIC, hence there is clear case of wrongful confinement. After hearing Advocate Shoket, the presiding officer passed order: “I have perused the entire record on file carefully and in my opinion there are sufficient grounds for proceeding against the accused for commission of offences made punishable under section 220,342 IPC as such office is directed to issue summons to the accused for causing appearance in court and listed the case on 23-10-20”.
