Home Guards demand regularization, fixation of salary | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 30: Alleging gross neglect of their issues by the successive governments, the All J&K Home Guards Welfare Association has urged the Lt Governor to resolve the long pending demands of Home Guard employees. Addressing a press conference here today, Babu Hussain Malik, President, EJAC (R) along with Kamla Sharma, President, All J&K Home Guards Welfare Association appealed to the LG administration to do justice with the Home Guards. While highlighting the plight of Home Guard employees, Kamla Sharma raised various demands of the Home Guards which she claimed were overseen by all the successive governments on one pretext or the other. She said that time and again their Association has approached all the quarters of administration right from Director General-FS, CD & HG to Chief Secretary and to the previous Lt Governor, but all in vain. Except assurances and formation of Committees, nothing concrete has been done till date in case of Home Guards, she added. She demanded implementation of Supreme Court of India's order No. 2759 of 2015 dated 11-03-2015 regarding regularization and fixation of salary of Home Guards as many States and Union Territories have already implemented the said order in letter and word besides implementation of Minimum Wages Act for Home Guards. Issuing an ultimatum to the Lt Governor administration for redressal of all the grievances of the Home Guards within 10 days, Kamla Sharma said otherwise they are left with no other option than to protest on streets to get justice. |
