Follow COVID protocol
11/17/2020 12:34:03 AM
The advent of winter amid pandemic has led to experts sounding an alert. They are advising people to follow the protocols to remain safe as they are unsure about how the virus will behave as the temperature declines.
People are hoping that the COVID-19 vaccine would come soon and the pandemic will be over but till the shield comes they have to ensure that they remain safe. For time being masks, social distancing and sanitizers are as good as vaccines. In fact these are the only available safeguards.
Experts fear that the COVID-19 cases will increase in winters as it has happened in the countries where the season has changed. The biggest question at this point of time is that if the cases increase in Jammu are there enough arrangements in place to handle the crisis?
The past experience in Jammu have been bitter, when the COVID-19 cases increased in the region, the people handling the Jammu hospitals were caught napping due to oxygen plants being unable to cater to the high end ventilators. Many people died due them not getting proper care. People are worried but are hoping that by now the hospital administrations would have learnt from the mistakes which they committed in the past.
Everyone is hoping that the pandemic will be over soon and the worst phase is over. But the experts have predicted that J&K can witness another COVID-19 peak in winter. In Kashmir winter has already set in and the hospitals continue to remain crowded. In Jammu also situation continues to be grim as everyday people are testing positive and fatalities too are mounting. The COVID-19 is very much present within the community and people are getting infected. This fact cannot be denied. The virus is present everywhere and it can’t be controlled till the permanent cure is found. Remaining alert and cautious hold the key. During the past nine months people have shown resilience and courage to fight the pestilence. They have to remain steadfast on their resolve to defeat the virus and it can only be done by taking precautions. People should bear in mind that they cannot depend upon the health care system completely. If the number increases, patients won’t even find beds in the hospitals. The COVID-19 cases can witness a spike at any point of time and it can lead to chaos and confusion. We can save our lives by remaining alert and careful.
