103rd birth anniversary of ex-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi celebrated

Kathua, Nov 19: Today a function at Dayalachak to celebrate the 103rd birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi Former Prime minster of India which was president over by Senior Congress leader Former MLC Subash Chander Gupta where large number of wokers participated in the function and paid floral tributes. While addressing the gathering Subash Chander Gupta lauded the role of Smt Gandhi in making India a vibrant and powerful country in the world. ”During her tenure as Prime Minster, she undertook number of historic decisions, while not only revolutionized the country but also changed the old -age opinion of the world community toward India”, Gupta added. Former MLC Subash Gupta further said that Indira Gandhi, born in the politically influenced Nehru family on November 19, 1917 and was the very first woman Prime Minster of India. Remembering achievements of her, he said that she known as an iron-lady for her dynamic qualities of leadership, farsightedness. She led the country to great heights of success in various fields and India emerged as a strong and powerful nation in the World due to her able leadership. She was one of the most successful Prime Minster of the country who worked for the welfare and uplift of the downtrodden and poor sections of the society. He referred to his association with the late leader and the Congress party and described her dynamic personality under whose leadership country and the congress party emerged stronger. He said that she always respected party workers. She played a major role in strengthening the Indian democratic structure and tradition. She handled the war of 1971 against Pakistan and won it. Indo-Soviet Treaty of Peace, Friendship and Cooperation was done under her leadership. Under her leadership the first nuclear tests at Pokhran took place. First Asian Games in the New Delhi, first Astronaut Squadron Leader, Rakesh Sharma had went to the Space and the growth of the Indian Space Research and Peaceful Nuclear development gone under her proficient guidance. “Indira Gandhi was an inspirational leader and has left for us many ideals to follow and contribute in the uplifting of the nation,” he added. He appealed the Congressmen to follow the footsteps of great leaders of party so that their dreams come true.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Yugal kishore Bali, Kulbir Pathania, Ruldoo Ram, Narinder Rathore, Parveen Bhagat, Mukesh Sudan, Ashwani Kumar, Ashu Sharma, Ajay Kumar, Kaka Ram, Pushan Sharma, Tilak Raj, Sahil Kumar, Krishan Sharma, Devinder Kumar, and so many others.
