Selling Lies
11/21/2020 12:08:17 AM
National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party, main constituents of People Alliance for Gupkar Declaration(PAGD) have ensured maximum number of seats for their candidates for the forthcoming District Development Council elections slated to be held in eight phases in J&K from November 28 onwards.
The PAGD comprises six Kashmir centric parties, these political formations have come together to seek restoration of Article 370 and are promising people that they will get everything back.
According to the media reports NC and PDP leaders have made it clear to the small parties that are a part of the PAGD that they should remain content with the seats being offered to them to contest the DDC polls.
The Congress Party which is fighting these elections collectively with PAGD too has not been given that many seats.
Kashmir centric parties are projecting these elections as do or die mission for them. These parties are trying to send a message that if they win enough seats it will set the ball rolling for getting J&K’s special status back. Most people know it’s a blatant lie which these leaders are trying to project and sell. The Article 370 stands buried under the earth and it cannot return. Despite that PAGD leaders are making every possible attempt to hoodwink the people.
The cracks within the PAGD are wide and open as the PDP and NC leaders are fighting to get the mandate.
On the other hand, the smaller constituents of the PAGD have been completely ignored in the seat sharing arrangement.
The PAGD vice-president Mehbooba Mufti has been claiming that the alliance wants to achieve a bigger goal and they have no time to waste to bicker over DDC polls. But there seems to be a huge difference between her kathni and karni. She is taking keen interest in seat sharing agreement and has already taken a lion’s share for her party candidates.
The PAGD leaders should stop telling lies and make it clear to people that all their politics revolves around power and they cannot stay away from it anymore and the forthcoming DDC polls are a step towards achieving a bigger goal i.e. to reach on the top once again.
Rest getting back everything and taking smaller parties along is nothing but a drama being staged to gain sympathies of the people, who have outrightly rejected these parties.
