Absenteeism of doctors mars functioning of CHC RS Pura | Institution lacks facilities, Ultrasound conducted twice a week | | RAJESH TANDON
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 20: The condition of the CHC RS Pura is so bad that it remains grappling with various issues including absenteeism of doctors and lack of the other facilities due to which patients have to face difficulty during any emergency. The local residents have serious complaints about mal functioning of the hospital. They alleged that unavailability of the doctors is one of the major problems. “The doctors remain absent most of the times. There is no security system in place in the hospital as the local vendors can be seen selling their merchandise in the hospital premises,” they alleged. When the Early Times correspondent visited the CHC RS Pura today after being called by a local social activist Gagandeep Singh, he found several lacunas in the hospital. It was noted that the concerned incharge of the hospital was not present as he was on leave, while the doctor, who was officiating was also not available and when inquired the staff said that he had gone out for some work. Even the COVID-19 SOPs were not being followed, social distancing was compromised. The Ultrasound Room was locked and patients were in grave difficulty and it was informed that Ultrasound is conducted twice a week while on other days it remains closed. The patients in an emergency have to get it done from a private center. When BMO RS Pura was contacted in this connection, he didn’t pick up the call. Meanwhile, CMO Jammu when informed about it, he refused to comment on it. He said that he would first inquire about it from BMO and only then will comment on it. |
