JTC asks admin to fullfill KP relief holders demands

JAMMU, Nov 22: On 52nd day, the Jagti Tenement Committee continued its strong protest at Jagti and a huge rally was taken out under the Leadership of its president Shadi Lal Pandita in order ti block national highway.The rally was attended by hundreds of members and they were chating slogans demanding increase in the monthly cash relief of KP relief holders as the Rs13,000 was not enough for a family in this time of high prices.They demanded that the monthly cash relief be increased to Rs 25,000 per month to per family. Pandita said that the government Jobs should be given in migrant houses where there is not any government employee in the family . Pandita said that the BJP government is not resolving the issues of Kashmiri Pandits. We warn BJP government to resolve our demands as soon as possible. Addressing the members Pandita said due to change in the weather, the fever,flu, cough and headache are spreading among the people these days and on these grounds we are going to postpone the dharna/ sit-in for a few days from today to keep the protesting members away from diseases. Pandita said If the government does not meet our demands then we will continue to protest from press club to Governor's house and start agitation again.Raj Kumar Tickoo unit president Jagti JTC said that unemployment has risen in our community due to which the lives of our educated youth are in danger for which a package of 20,000 Jobs should be given and migrant youth of camps and non camps be recuruted in the police department on the spot. They said in one voice that over aged youth should be given compensation and bank loans with out interest. They said there are also pensioners in the community who receive little pension, they should be given free rations. Some pensioners died because they could not afford medicine and other expenses. The illegal occupations of our land ,property and our religious places should be removed as soon as possible. We want to go back to Kashmir valley.
