Meek Surrender
11/23/2020 11:32:13 PM
Congress high command not taking the forthcoming District Development Council elections in Jammu and Kashmir seriously is a direct hint that the party has become completely depended on Kashmir centric Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD).
The Congress has entered into a seat sharing arrangement with the PAGD and is hoping that the formula will work.
The grand old party not taking any interest in Jammu region is making many people believe that the party has already conceded defeat and has kept the ground open for other local parties.
If one looks at the chances of the Congress Party in Kashmir region, these look bleak and in Jammu everyone knows that the party faces a stiff competition.
The newly appointed in charge of J&K affairs of the Congress Party, Rajni Patil, seems to be busy with other tasks as she has not visited J&K to formulate a strategy for the DDC polls.
The Congress Party in Jammu and Kashmir is missing their veteran leader Ghulam Nabi Azad very badly.
His absence has created a void and the party being in disarray ahead of the maiden elections in J&K after the abrogation of Article 370 is an ample proof of it.
The Congress Party failing to put its act together has exposed the lack of leadership within the party and the failure of the people who are handling the party affairs in the union territory.
The grand old party of the country at present is facing the worst crisis across the nation as party is finding it hard to establish its foothold anywhere. The veteran leaders have raised a banner of revolt and are demanding the change in party leadership.
Azad and many other leaders were sidelined after they wrote a letter to the party high command demanding that someone else should take over the reins of the party. The party which ruled country for so many years is finding it hard to somehow make a comeback and many people believe that if the Congress has to survive the era of Gandhi family has to end.
Had the Congress leadership been strong it would have realized the importance of the forthcoming DDC elections in J&K and would have ensured that some resistance is offered. The meek surrender on its part has revealed it all.
