'Center should consider demands of farmers'
12/8/2020 11:13:50 PM

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 8: In an emergency meeting the situation arising due to the on-going agitation of farmers of the country was discussed at Party head office. The farmers are the backbone of Indian economy and agriculture sector contributes about 25% of GDP. They are the persons who have brought the green revolution in the country and not only feed the population of 130 crores but have put the country in a prestigious position to export the surplus food grains to other countries. They had come on roads against the recent bills concerning agriculture which the Govt. has passed with their apprehension that these are not farmer friendly but against the interests of farmers. Their main demand is that Govt. should issue an ordinance ensuring that they get the MSP on their produce weather it is being procured by Govt. agency or any other private agency in the country. The hard earn money of the farmers is being duped off and goes in the pocket of those who are in no way associated with the farming activities.
It was impressed upon the Central Govt. that they should sympathically consider the genuine demands of farmers and expedite and save the life of thousands of old aged farmers who are sitting since last 14 days under harsh winter conditions under open sky. The farmers of the country are true patriotic and have contributed lavishly in the development and progress of the country. They are our own people and they are facing the problems and it is the duty of the Central Govt. to settle the issues pertaining to farmers without any egoistic approach.
