Predictions fall flat
12/13/2020 11:38:36 PM
Kashmir centric leaders, who were claiming that the Valley will burn after the abrogation of Article 370, have been left red faced as none of their predictions have come true.
People have accepted the change in status-quo gracefully and have moved on with their lives. No one has even bothered to pay attention towards what these leaders have been saying about getting everything back.
Leaders like Mehbooba Mufti and her close aides like Naeem Akther had predicted large scale violence in Kashmir if J&K's special status is fiddled with. They had even claimed that all the industries, including tourism will collapse, but nothing of that sort has happened. Everything is moving in Kashmir and the tourists returning to the Valley is a good news for the people.
According to the media reports hotels in Gulmarg and Pahalgam are likely to witness full occupancy on the new-year eve. Leaders like National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, who were seeking China's help for restoration of Article 370, will be wondering how come life in Kashmir is returning to normal so fast. It seems someone needs to remind leaders like Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti that had the COVID-19 pandemic not broken out, by now Kashmir would have witnessed massive changes.
The Centre's decision to abrogate J&K's special status has ended many confusions. Ones who used to claim that J&K's accession with the Union of India is not permanent and used to call Kashmir as a dispute have been left speechless. Their war rhetoric has also fallen flat as Pakistan has not been able to do much as the international community has made it clear to our rogue neighbor that J&K is an internal issue of India and no one can interfere in it.
Kashmir centric leaders should stop telling lies to people and muster courage to speak the truth. By raising hollow slogans these leaders are once again trying to create a wrong notion. These leaders also know it very well that the Article 370 will never make a comeback. They should tell the people that what all they preached in the past was nothing but a deceit and the new narrative is very much clear that nationalism is the way forward.
As the time is progressing these leaders are losing their face as all their narratives and notions that were projected by them are proving to be a hoax. People by moving on have given them a befitting reply.
