Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 18: Availing every possible means to reach out to the helpless, People's Hut Foundation NGO has been turning out to be a boon for needy persons. The J&K Based NGO has been extending its helping hand to the needy through its "Feed the Hungry Program".
Since the lockdown times, the NGO members have been distributing food packets and clothes among the underprivileged and needy, said Vikas Koul (Advisor of PHF) and in the past 3 months, the NGO has reached over to more than 4 thousand families.
While talking to the media Rohit Koul, Director and CEO of the foundation said Coronavirus pandemic affected us in many ways, but it largely affected the poor and the marginalised sections of the society the most. It resulted in an economic crisis, resulting in loss of livelihoods of daily wage workers and migrant labourers.
As part of the service for the poor and needy people the program began during the lockdown where we distributed cooked lunch at locations in Jammu Vicinity and the far-off places in the districts, Program Coordinator of PHF Sumit Khar said.
During this crisis, NGOs from across the country have come forward to help these vulnerable groups by providing food and other essential items but the condition of these people is still not good and it's still a big challenge for them to afford good food but through our "Feed the Hungry Program" we are regularly trying to feed the people in all the possible ways.
The other volunteers who participated in the program were Ajay Misra, Deepak Pandita, Vishal Pandita, Chand Ji Koul, M.K Koul, Dharminder Chowdhary and others.
