Pvt hospital followed 'admit only VVIPs policy' during Corona surge | Now claims pioneer of providing healthcare during pandemic | | Early Times Report jammu, Jan 18: A private hospital of Jammu region being run by a Shrine Board, which had faced repeated allegations of treating only bigwigs during Corona surge in the region, is now making tall claims of standing alone in providing healthcare to the masses across the region. An advertisement is being aired on various FM stations of Jammu region in which the private hospital has been harping praises on itself, terming itself as champion of providing healthcare to the masses during the Corona-pandemic. "Though it is a radio advertisement and the air-time is purchased by the private hospital but truth is a far cry from the contents of the advertisement", a local said, adding that a large number of people of Jammu are aware of the treatment meted out to the patients during the Corona pandemic. A contractual Safai Karamchari of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) was denied dialysis by the hospital, after he was tested positive for Corona. He was asked by the private hospital to go to GMC Jammu. Even the mother of the patient was not provided PPE kit by the hospital which was in total violation of the laid norms. Similarly another patient was shifted to CD Hospital Jammu after 12 days, when he was tested positive, an official said, adding that the hospital was publicly criticized for denying admission and treatment to the common masses taking refuge of either space scarcity or some other impediments. On the other side the attitude of hospital for politicians, senior bureaucrats and other important entities was totally different and had provided them care with open hands but for common masses it was out of bounds and newspaper reports were plenty of reports about denial of healthcare by the private hospital to common masses but open only for VVIPs. "It is the government hospitals and their staff who are real COVID-19 warriors, who stood up for all and provide healthcare services during pandemic to all irrespective of class and status and not such type of private hospitals, which were either totally shut down or shut down their doors for common masses", an official said. |
