GDC Vijaypur holds workshop on "Creative Writing Skills"

JAMMU, Feb 5: With the motive to raise awareness among its students about the importance of creative writing, Government Degree College (GDC) Vijaypur (Samba district) today organised a day-long workshop on the topic "Creative Writing Skills" in the college premises here.
Vikas Sharma, senior journalist and owner-cum-managing director, Institute of Mass Communication and Skill Development (IMCSD) was the resource person in the workshop who delivered a keynote address to the students.
During his address to the students, the resource person focussed on strengthening the basics to have creative writing skills. He underlined the importance of inculcating reading habits among the students to have rich vocabulary which is of paramount importance. "Your own resolution to succeed/excel in any field is the secret of success and creative writing skills is no different.
Not just the Journalism and Mass Communication field, effective writing skills are required in every field be it cracking competitive examination or writing a simple application", senior journalist said.
Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College in her address laid stress on the importance of having creative writing skills. She stated that creativity was confined to the writing aspect only but it has a vast aspect. She added that said every student has the potential to prove her/his worth in different fields provided they are aware about it.
