Cracks in Peoples Conference over Raj Bhawan meetings | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 5: Cracks have allegedly surfaced in the Peoples Conference led by Sajad Lone over the “proposed meeting” of the party leaders with the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha. Source said that some of the senior leaders of the party are of the opinion that they should call on the Lieutenant Governor to keep him apprised about the “problems faced by the people and what all the government can do the mitigate the sufferings.” Sources said while one group of leaders are of the opinion that the leadership should call on the LG from time to time, the other group is “averse to the idea” till “things get finalized in Delhi.” Sources said this has led to major infighting in the party leadership. Sources said the controversy has furthered due to an explanation sought by the party leadership over how come a senior leader had called on the Raj Bhawan a few months ago. It was reliably learnt that PC President had shot a formal letter to a senior leader seeking explanation from him for having called on the LG without taking approval from the party. Sources said in the recent development some more leaders were looking ahead to call on the Governor but that the issue faced road blocks due to “standing orders from the party leadership.” Sources said the PC looks ahead to call a meeting on this front to decide about the future course of action. The PC is already facing a tough time as the Party President Sajad Lone has been allegedly staying away from the party affairs and is mostly camping in New Delhi. Some of his party leaders from north Kashmir are accusing him “remote controlling the party without any connection with the grass root leaders.” Despite repeated attempts Sajad Lone or other senior leaders of PC were not available for comments. |
