EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 11: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K executive member Raman Suri today urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to take a serious note of unhealthy developments taking place at Lakhanpur, wherein inter-state passengers especially Mata Vaishno Devi bound pilgrims, are facing huge inconvenience due to COVID-19 restrictions. Raman Suri said, passengers travelling from far off places like Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh are being asked to de-board their buses and get into J&KRTC buses, even in the middle of night, which is highly inconvenient. Suri urged the government to make public all rules and regulations, if any, so that travellers can decide about their itinerary well in advance and not face any hardships at the eleventh hour, and also stay prepared for the checks and shifting at Lakhanpur. The BJP leader said the pilgrimage season will be started in a few weeks from now on. Pilgrims bound for Mata Vaishno Devi, as well as Shri Amarnath Cave shrine, will be heading towards Jammu and Kashmir but such arrangementa at Lakhanpur are not in the good taste when it comes to welcoming tourists and pilgrims besides businessmen who trade in our Union Territory.
