Pooja Bhandari to head Kishtwar DDC, Saima Shabir to be her deputy

JAMMU, Feb 12: The news report carried by the Early Times in its today's edition with regard to joining of hands by Congress and National Conference to form DDC in the Kishtwar District got vindicated as both parties today announced the candidatures for Chairperson and Vice Chairperson for District Kishtwar.
As per the details available with Early Times, all the 10 DDC members belonging to National Conference and Congress party attended the joint meeting in presence of former Minister Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo and Ghulam Mohammad Saroori at Kichloo's residence.
After the meeting both the leaders came out and announced the joint decision in front of the party workers who are waiting eagerly for the much awaited announcement with regard to the formation of DDC in Kishtwar District.
The announcement was exactly the same which was published in today's edition of Early Times.
"Pooja Bhandari of National Conference will be the Chairperson and Saima Shabir Lone will be the Vice Chairperson for Kishtwar DDC" announced jointly by Saroori and Kichloo triggering celebrations among the party workers and the supporters.
Both the leaders also talk of possible rotation of the candidates in near future with NC continue to hold Chairperson post and Congress to hold the Vice Chairperson for full term.
"The decision of joining the hands by the NC and Congress has been taken to strengthen the social fabric beside to keep the communal forces at bay," said Saroori.
Speaking to Early Times, Pooja Bhandari thanked party leadership including Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, District President Tanveer Ahmed Kichloo for reposing faith on her.
"This is a big responsibility on my shoulder. I am sure I will do justice with the duty assigned to me by the party. My priority will remain to uplift the socio -economic status of Kishtwar District which is full of many natural resources," said Bhandari.
She said that she and her team will fight for the share of unemployed youths in power projects under construction in District Kishtwar beside will work towards fixation of 2% share in power project revenue for the District Kishtwar which was earlier promised by the government at the time of finalizing of DPRs of the power projects.
Bhandari said that she is also thankful to the people of Dachhan who voted for her and also to all the DDC members who will vote for her, adding that her in-laws and family members including her husband remained a big motivational power and support for her and whatever she achieved is all because of joint support from public of Dachhan, party leadership and her family.
She said that she will try her best to come upto the expectations of the common masses.
She said that remote areas of Marwah, Warwan, Dachhan, Padder, Bhunjwah and other far flung areas of Kishtwar District will remain on her top priority.
Meanwhile, Saima Shabir Lone who has been chosen for the post of Vice Chairperson also expressed her gratitude to party leadership as well as to her people who voted for her in DDC elections.
