Rajouri, Feb 12: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Govt. P.G. College Rajouri organized two-day orientation workshop cum- cleanliness drive here today. Principal of College, Prof. Shakeel Ahmed Raina inaugurated the workshop. While speaking on the occasion, Prof. Raina lauded the role of NSS volunteers in nation building, community service, peacebuilding and conservation of environment, and hoped that more students will come forward to join this fascinating platform to serve humanity at par with ideals of father of nation Mahatma Gandhi. Prof. Farooq Mirza, Head, Department of Education also spoke on the topic NSS and personality development. The NSS volunteers led by Programme Officers,. Naseem Ahmed Malik and Prof. Supriya Gupta, cleaned up the newly opened college campus, after Covid-19 lockdown, and made the peers aware about the importance of cleanliness. In the afternoon session, Ashaq Malik, convener of NSS Advisory Committee in College, delivered a talk on volunteerism and opportunities related to NSS works at national and international level. NSS volunteers Vishupreet Singh and Zahid Qayum also shared their experiences being NSS Volunteers.
