| Fake voters getting enlisted: NC | | | Early Times Report Jammu | Sept 18 J&K National Conference, Jammu province is seriously concerned over the way the electoral rolls are being prepared in Jammu region, said Ajay Sadhotra, Provincial President and M A Bukhari, while addressing a Press Conference here today. They said the Village Level Officers are not functioning properly as per the guidelines of Election Commission of India. "The VLOs are working in a partial way and in most of the villages, the VLOs are not available to the common voters and the electorates are not getting Photo-Identity Cards as per reports in Jammu region", they alleged. As per report 30 to 40% Photo Identity Cards of voters have been made. The photo I-Cards are also not available with the Election authorities, they said. They said the reports of the bogus voters in the voter lists are common. Chief Electoral Officer J&K has also been approached in certain cases. In one of the communication regarding assembly constituency Surankote, leader Bukhari, former Minister, has communicated to the Chief Electoral Officer J&K regarding wrongs being done. The NC leaders demanded that corrective measures be taken to ensure that all the eligible voters are enlisted so that maximum people could participate in ensuing Assembly Elections. The bogus voters should be deleted and all the registered voters should get Photo Identity Cards. |
