| GDC AKhnoor NSS Unit organises Rangoli competition | | |

Akhnoor, Feb 12: NSS UNIT of Government degree College Akhnoor organised Rangoli competition on the theme “Bye-Bye Corona” And a lecture on drug addiction and its abuses on the concluding day of ten days special winter camp. The event was coordinated by NSS programme officer Dr Sanjay Kapoor(Assitant Professor Chemistry) under the patronage of Dr Namarta Gupta, principal of the college. During this winter camp NSS volunteers actively participated in plantation and cleanliness drive. In rangoli competition students displayed their colourful designs to say bye to corona and coming back to life. With an objective to create sentience about the drug abuse and it’s harmful effects, a special lecture was conducted. Mr Varun Jandayal, SDPO Akhnoor was the speaker for the lecture who discussed about how the pressure of modern society and individualistic life creates a challenge for the youth across the globe to stay alert and cautious of falling in the drug addiction traps. In his talk he mentioned various precautions and to find other ways to relax, not believing in false encouragement by fake friends, choosing friends wisely, remain attentive and aware of drugs and always trust family. He concluded his talk on career councelling and gave special mantras to students for better life. The aim of organising this event was to spread awareness amongst the young students about the dangers of drug abuse and ways to deal with it.
Dr Namarta gupta, principal of the college motivated and encouraged the NSS team to organize more such events in future for creating awareness amongst youth.
