2/13/2021 11:17:05 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, Feb 13: Five panchayat members alongwith their supporters on Saturday joined Apni Party (AP) in Srinagar outskirts.
A spokesman of the AP claimed that those who joined the party included Mohammad Sadiq Dar (Sarpanch S.K Bagh), Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Dar (Panch, S K Bagh), Altaf Hussain Dar (Panch, SK Bagh), Firdous Ahmad Bhat (Panch, Nowgam-B), Ghulam Ahmad Haroon (Panch, Nowgam-B) along with scores of political activists.
Provincial President Mohammad Ashraf Mir welcomed the new entrants into the party fold and urged them to highlight and resolve the issues in their respective Panchayat zones. He said resolving the grievances of the people are the prime concerns of an elected Panchayat member.
"Apni Party is determined to solve the problems faced by the people at large. They have been hoodwinked for so many years by various political parties promising them the moon at first and then yielding nothing on ground. However, Apni Party does not believe in emotive sloganeering; instead we focus on realistic issues that affect day-to-day lives of the common people," Mir said.
The new entrants from SK Bagh, Nowgam thanked the Party leadership for providing them with such a platform and avowed to strengthen the party at grass root level.
