Poonch, Feb 13: The Congress candidate accused her own party members for defeating her in the DDC Chairperson election in Poonch.
The seat was reserved for ST women and the Congress candidate was sure of her win but she got shocked when an independent candidate was declared winner. Defeated Congress candidate alleged that the conspiracy was hatched against her for ensuring her defeat by her own party’s members who didn’t’ vote in her favour.
She said that she would write to the Congress party high command against the deceit of the party members, who didn’t vote in favour of their own candidate.
“There was an alliance between Congress and NC, which comprised a total of 8 votes but the winning candidate got 8 and I got only 6 votes which clearly shows that some members have backstabbed me,” she alleged.
She demanded the Congress higher command to take strict disciplinary action against members, who had cross voted in the DDC Chairperson’ election. The Congress District President Choudhary Gani also accused some party members of betraying their own candidate and helped independent to win election. |
