Kalakote, Feb 17 : It was a proud moment for Govt. Degree College Kalakote as the maiden one day seminar on the theme “Arabic Novel in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia”, was organised by Department of Arabic. The event was attended by some prominent professors of Arabic language from BGSBU, Rajouri Mohd. Affan, Mohd Azam and Manzer Alam along with six scholars from the Institution who presented their papers on the given platform. The guests were accorded a warm welcome by principal, GDC, Kalakote, Romesh kr. Gupta and other faculty members of the college keeping in view all the SoPs of COVID-19 Pandemic. The event began with Marve Sofi (Stage Secretary) wherein she announced the theme of the seminar and also talked about the richness of Arabic literature. It was followed by honouring ceremony wherein the guests were welcomed by Principal, Romesh kr. Gupta, Anayat-ullah Khan( HOD Arabic) and Sudesh Kumar Bhagat (PTI). Thereafter, Mohd Affan gave his thought provoking inaugural speech and set a perfect platform for the speakers to deliver their presentations. Subsequently, a total of six speakers, which included, Imtiaz Ahmed, Tahira Bashir, Vazeera Jan , Rabia Ameen, Sameer Ahmed and Iqra Firdous respectively presented their papers. Manzar Alam presented the review report of the papers presented in the seminar. He also talked about the depth of Arabic literature at length and thanked the college administration and faculty for organising such seminar with great spirit.
