Government fails to construct GDC Sunderbani Building in 7 years: Ravinder | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 17: Former MLC & Chief Spokesperson JKPCC Mr. Ravinder Sharma has regretted that government failed to construct the building for government Degree College Sunderbani even after nine years of its sanction, as result hundreds of students continue to suffer. Addressing workers meetings at Sunderbani and Nowshera, Mr. Sharma said that the government Degree college at Sunderbani was sanctioned in the year 2011-2012 and the land as well as the funds were sanctioned during the year 2013-2014. The site was later changed and till date the building is nowhere, as a result hundreds of students are suffering due to shortage of space in the government middle school, where the college is functioning. The government should immediately ensure construction of building as well introduce science stream in the Sunderbani college. Sharma also criticized the failure of the government to carry forward the ongoing project of lift irrigation scheme at Beripattan costing over 52 crores. This project is languishing since 2014, after expenditure of around 15 crores, depriving the inhabitants of over dozen panchayats/villages of irrigation and drinking water facility. He lashed out at the government for around seven years delay in the construction of upgraded hospital buildings at Sunderbani and Nowshera, costing over 18.50 crores each sanctioned due to his personal efforts during UPA regime under the Health Ministry headed by Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad. He said that the failures of the BJP government on the developmental fronts are writ large, while large scale unemployment, unprecedented price hike and neglect of daily wagers, need based and other working class has dismayed the people. He asked the party workers and people to rise against the wrong policies and failures of the present regime and raise the voice of the common people. |
