JAMMU, Sept 19:The state president of Nationalist Congress party (NCP) and former minister Thakur Randhir Singh has demanded that all the three regions must act full political empowerment and then only problems of people will be settled for ever.
While, addressing a well attended public rally at Arnia, a border town, he said without delimitation, assembly elections in J&K state will be a futile exercise, as these popular demands of the people of Jammu cantt are ignored and added people of the region are now in mood to be ruled by Kashmiri leaders.
While, appreciating the bravery and patriotism of Jammuties, especially of border belt from Hiranagar to Akhnoor to Poonch, he demanded raising of Jammu border scouts which can help security forces on infiltration from across the border. He also demanded adequate supply of irrigation water to tail end of the areas of border belt, besides the government should constitute a high level judicial enquiry into misuse of funds in desalting and modernization of Ranbir canal from Akhnoor to end every year.
