Jammu, Feb 26: Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Geo-Spatial Data Survey of India Jammu celebrated “National Science Day” today at its premises at Gold Course Road Nagrota Jammu. The theme of this year National Science Day was “Future of Science, Technology, and Innovation: Impacts on Education on Education, Skills and Work”. On this occasion, an exhibition was organised. Visitors from various departments and school children accompanied by the teachers were present during the occasion. During the exhibition different kinds of maps, digital maps, prepared by Survey of India and modern instruments, technologies being used for mapping i.e. Global Positioning System, Digital Level, Total Station and Plane Tabling etc. were displayed. The preparation of maps using satellite imagery and other digital techniques of mapping were explained to the visitors. At the end of the programme a quiz competition was held for visitors, students. The winners were rewarded by BC Parida, Director J&K and Ladakh GDC Survey of India Jammu. |
