Early Times Report

Rajouri, Feb 26: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Rajesh Kumar Shavan has been acting hard against the state land encroachers and those who had been under illegal occupation of government building for years, which has sent a strong message among public of strict action against such scrupulous elements.
The locals said that they have not seen such an official in the district, who took such action against encroachment in this pace. It has been just a month, since the new DC has assumed his office, that huge crackdown has been launched by him against the encroachers and resolved long pending issues.
There are number of actions, which were taken in just month of time. In one of his visit at Lam area of Nowshera where he resolved the long pending land issue of Animal Husbandry Department there.
It is pertinent to mention here that about 2880 kanals of the land of Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department where the farms of these two departments are located was illegally encroached by the people and more land was suspected to be encroached in near future.
The matter came to notice of the Deputy Commissioner few days ago and taking cognizance of the seriousness of the matter, DC himself along with a team of the officers paid a visit to the site.
He directed the revenue officer to carry out the demarcation of the land in presence of the officers and officials of the Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department.
The concerned officer from Public Works Department has been directed to erect firm cemented pillars around the demarcated site for the protection of the land.
Similarly, Deputy Commissioner also resolved a long pending issue of ZEO office building at Baljaralan.
The ZEO office Baljarala was functioning in a Government building at Dhangri but due to some dispute, the said office was shifted to a rented building at Badhon.
The rent of the building was accessed time to time but the owner of the building was not satisfied with the rent assessed, so the Education Department had tried to shift the office to ZRC Dhangri; is but the owner of the private building was reluctant to get the office shifted to the Government building.
Continuing his efforts to vacate Government buildings from illegal occupants, administration vacated a school building and a Panchayat Ghar in Rajouri.
In another issue, an unauthorised occupants was evicted and clear the bottlenecks in the way of development, old Panchayat Ghar issue.
The buildings of the two health institutions viz. PHC Dandesar and PHC Dandani were complete in all respects but are under illegal encroachment.
Unauthorised occupants of the Government Buildings of a school building GMS Thala Kakora and a Veterinary Dispensary Manjakote was vacated.
Pertinent to mention here that, Government Middle School Thala Kakora and building of Veterinary Dispensery Centre Manjakote were under illegal possession for so many years.
