Early Times Report
Srinagar, Feb 27: A bridge connecting more than two villages in Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district collapsed on Saturday due to flash floods. According to a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the original bridge collapsed after that an alternative bridge was constructed on emergency basis but that too was washed out by fresh flash floods today. Locals said that this was the only way connecting the two villages in Chadoora. “Now we are not able to cross to the other side to buy essentials or for some other purpose,” they said. They said the surge in water level after continuous rain for the last few days caused immense damage to the bridge. However, an official said that the department would construct an alternate bridge in the village to restore people’s movement.
