Expedite Delimitation exercise in J&K: Tajinder | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 1: Social activist Sardar Tajinder Singh urged the Delimitation Commission to complete Delimitation exercise expeditiously in a fair and transparent manner so, that assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir UT held at earliest as due to the absence of elected government the people are facing a lot of problems in their constituencies. Tajinder urged the Delimitation commission to take all relevant parameters including constitutional guarantee, population, area topography and terrain of respective constituencies into account while finalising the recommendations. He also demanded to reserve two constituencies for DPs of 1947. Singh also put his concern over the skyrocketing prices of petrol, LPG and other essential commodities as spiraling food and fuel price across is pinching the budget of common people as the present price scenario show that the present administration do not listen to the grievances of people and make their mind to put number of taxes robbing the poor of their hard earned money to plug in surmounting the fiscal deficit. "Lack of popular government and falling of reigns of administration into the hands of bureaucracy unaware of people grievances has further compounded the woes of people in J&K. Long term political void has been a major detrimental factor in the failure of administration to rise up to its obligations, Tajinder added. |
