Saffron Brigade under fire after Akash Mehra's gruesome killing | | | Early Times Report jammu, Mar 1: Strong resentment brewing against BJP and its allied groups after Aakash Mehra, 22-year old son of the owner of Krishana Dhabha succumbed to his injuries after the terror attack. Aakash lost his battle for life after spending eleven days in government hospital at Srinagar but none of the senior BJP leaders tried to inquire about the condition of the martyr youth who was a native of Jammu. "Except issuing a handout for cheap publicity, none of senior BJP or Saffron Brigade leader made any serious effort to save life of Aakash who had received severe bullet injuries as he was shot by terrorist from very close range", sources said and regretted that due to "appeasement policy" BJP and its allied organizations have virtually abandoned non-locals who have been doing business in Kashmir Valley. "Saffron Brigade is taking the people of Jammu for granted and the case of Aaksh Mehra is a glaring example", sources said. It is alleged that family members were kept in the dark by the doctors about the condition of Aakash because doctors repeatedly assured them (family) members that his (Aakash's) conditions were improving. Reports said that family members were ready to shift Aakash outside J&K for advanced treatment but doctors kept them in dark about his condition. Terrorists had opened fire on Aakash Mehra, 22, outside Krishana Dhaba on February 17 in the highly fortified security zone of Srinagar city. He died on early Sunday morning. Mehra was being treated at Shri Maharaja Hari Singh hospital in Srinagar where he was on ventilator. He had bullet injuries in his chest. Shockingly all Kashmir centric parties including PDP president Mehbooba Mufti have strongly condemned this gruesome killing but except Kavinder Gupta, no other BJP leader has issued any statement in this regard. |
