| National vaccination day is celebrated across the entire nation on 16th March every year. This day was started in 1995 with the polio immunisation. Now we have eradicate the polio almost from entire country due to tireless efforts of our health workers and with the campaign of mass immunisation against polio. No doubt it was a great achievement for us in health sector. This year our national vaccination day has more importance because we are fighting against the global pandemic of corona. We have gifted the covid vaccine to the entire mankind in a record time.it was a great achievement of our scientists and health workers that we are running the mega campaign of immunisation across the entire nation. We are the chief and cheap producers of every kind of vaccines in the world. And our vaccines are always trustworthy in respect its design and effectiveness. Even prime minister Narinder Modi has narrated that our vaccines are more affordable than any other on the globe. Because there is always less complications and side effects of made in India vaccines. World Health organisation (W.H.O) has praised the Indian vaccination industry for producing the effective vaccine for various health ailments. Even the various foreign chemical industry has shown their interest in seeking partner with Indian firms for the production of various vaccines. We can say that the efficacy of Indian vaccine is world recognized. No doubt the department of biotechnology, Indian council of medical research and minister of health and family welfare are playing their significant role in this direction. India was self-sufficient in the production of small pox vaccine at the time of independence. Now we are self-sufficient in the production of various vaccines against major ailments .India released the first national vaccine policy in 2011.The policy provides guiding principles for functioning of immunisation programme in the country. Now India is a major global manufacturer of vaccines and supplies many vaccine to many developing country. Now in our national immunisation programme there is indigenous capacity to produce various vaccines against different diseases and viral infections. The indigenous production of new vaccine in India has always the capacity to produce the vaccine for our native needs as well as for global needs. There is need of better funding and cooperation from government side to these pharmaceutical companies to produce more vaccine and for various clinical trials and research work. Collaboration of all private as well as government agencies is needed in this direction so that we can manufacture the vaccine for every possible health ailments and give its benefits to the victims of these diseases. Our scientists has shown the world that we are no less than anyone. There is no doubt that there is a lack of talent in our people and country, rather it needs to be given a right direction. National vaccination day is the very apt time for everyone to introspect on this issue. |
