| GDC Khour organizes workshop on Stress Management | | |

JAMMU, Mar 19: Govt Degree College Khour under the patronage of Principal Prof Hans Raj organized a day-long workshop for the students on “Stress and its Management in Everyday Life”. The resource persons for the workshop were Dr. Manu Arora Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, GMC Jammu and Dr. Piyali Arora Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, GCW Parade. The workshop was inaugurated by the Principal Prof. Hans Raj, who welcomed the resource persons and spoke about the relevance of managing stress for the overall progress of the individual. The workshop was organised by Dr Deepti Gupta, Head, Department of Sociology in collaboration with IQAC. More than 70 students registered for the workshop and participated actively. All the faculty members attended the programme. The workshop was divided into two sessions, which included dealing and understanding the mental stress biologically, sociologically and psychologically. Dr Manu Arora emphasized upon different aspects of stress that people face in their everyday life under different spheres and also deliberated upon the physical consequences of long term stress. He also elaborated on Covid-19 pandemic impact in the life of people with special emphasis on students. Dr. Piyali Arora made students understand on different stress management strategies which a person need to follow in their everyday life and make it a part of lifestyle so that it's effects can be felt when the person meet stress all on a sudden or on daily basis.
