District Admin intensifies COVID-19 control measures across Ramban
DC urges people to wear face mask, take covid vaccine

RAMBAN, Mar 27: District Administration, Ramban, today intensified Covid control measures in Ramban, Gool, Banihal, Ramsu and other places of the district. Keeping in view surge in cases, Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam led a drive to sensitize people about the preventive measures, He asked the people to wear face masks, observe social distance at work and public places in the wake of second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Addl. SP, Rajni Sharma, ACD, Zameer Rishu, DPO, ARTO, Tehsildsar and several other senior officers accompanied the DC. The SDMs along with police and other enforcement agencies carried out the drive in their respective jurisdictions.
The DC conducted surprise inspections to check the wearing of masks in market places. He also advised the people to wear masks, while explaining the importance of personal safety.
The DC went around Main Market, Bus stand, Boli Bazar and Maitra town and inspected the shops.
He asked the shopkeepers to ensure use of face masks by the customers prior to allowing them inside their shops. He also inspected some Dhabas, tea stalls, outlets selling fruits and fruit juices and asked the vendors to ensure protective measures at their respective outlets.
The DC directed Chief Medical Officer to conduct sampling of shopkeepers and other service providers and drivers of commercial transport in the district.
He also instructed drivers to allow the passengers wearing the face masks and ensure social distancing inside the buses and other passenger vehicles.
The DC urged people to take COVID-19 vaccine doses which are available in all Covid Vaccination Centres for targeted people. He informed that from April 1, 2021 the vaccine will be available for all persons above 45 year age.
The enforcement teams also realized fine from persons roaming without wearing face masks in public places. The enforcement teams warned shops and business establishments to adhere to the COVID-19 SOPs and other preventative measures issued by the Government to prevent the spread of Covid-19 infections.
The enforcement team also removed many encroachments in the towns besides urging the shopkeepers to not use public areas for their business activities.
