Restrictions only for common people; dumpers tippers move freely
'Imposing night curfew irrational decision'

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 15: The night curfew imposed by the JK UT Administration in eight districts has drawn flak from common people, who alleged that restrictions have been imposed only for the poor while illegal activities continue even in the garb of curfew.
Members of civil societies alleged the there is no meaning of imposing night curfew from 10 pm to 6 am despite the fact that during day time, the crowd can be witnessed everywhere with no social distancing and in such circumstances night curfew is meaningless.
"During the day everything is normal in the markets. Imposing night curfew creates difficulties for common people and doesn't make any sense. Moreover, influential people manage to move freely in the night whereas the poor people have to face the brunt of this illogical night curfew," they alleged.
They alleged that tippers, dumpers are allowed to move during night hours and no restrictions have been imposed on their movement. Moreover, this night curfew has become a blessing in disguise for these tippers and dumpers which carry minor minerals illegally.
"It has been observed that dumpers ply through Akhnoor, Domana, Phalian Mandal, Chatha, Satwari, Miran Sahib, Badyal, but no authority stops them. Interestingly when concerned SHOs are informed about illegal plying of dumpers, they assure of action but in reality no action is taken by them," they alleged further adding that tour and travel buses are also seen plying during night hours.
There is no restriction or night curfew for politicians who are seen attending parties during night hours, police seem to be helpless in taking action against them but only the poor are made to suffer. "Imposing night curfew is an irrational decision," they added.
When Early Times contacted the concerned Superintendent of Police, he said, " I have taken a note and action will be taken."
