Munish Gupta asks government to solve problems of residents | Least concern shown by people at helm, allege residents of lane 4, ward 1 Dharp Kotha | | Early Times Report
Jammu, April 19: People living in lane 4 of ward 1 Dharp Kotha are confused over the bad condition of roads and lanes in the area and also upset with the fact that the garbage is not being lifted from the area thus creating nuisance. The lane 4 of ward 1 Dharp Kotha is a part of the Gandhi Nagar constituency and it is presenting a sordid tale of absolute neglect from the people at helm. The successive governments have failed the people of this colony and they are suffering like anything. “The roads of the area are in dilapidated condition and o concern has been shown towards this glaring problem of the colony by the authorities. The roads should be maintained in proper condition so that the locals move around without any difficulty whatsoever”, urged the residents. “The tiles that have been laid on the streets have come off and they are yet to be set right by the authorities. During the rainy season the rain water gets collected in these ditches and potholes. It gets difficult to move around but the same does not make any difference for the people who ruled us in the past,” narrated the residents. “The municipal authorities have miserably failed them since the garbage most of the time remains unattended for days together, thus creating problems for the people to move on the roads. The garbage gets collected in drains thus creating yet another problem. The garbage including the polythene sheets gets collected in the drains and as such there is choking of the drains. Since the drains are open the foul smell emanating from the same create problems for the residents”, said the residents, adding that the issue needs to be resolved and that too at the earliest. “The roads need to be properly developed so that there is no dust during the summer season. Many health-related issues in the area are due to the dust that comes up due to the bad roads of the area. We are craving for the basic amenities and it is the duty of the government to provide them all the facilities”, they said. Munish Gupta, Editor-in-Chief Early Times has demanded that the government should pay immediate attention to the problems of the people living in the lane 4 of ward 1 Dharp Kotha. Munish said that people of the area have been left at the mercy of God and no concrete action is being taken to mitigate the sufferings. |
