REASI, May 1: A 'powerful' panch of Panchayat Letar in tehsil Pouni of district Reasi has allegedly constructed a road for his personal use by encroaching upon Government School's land.
Sources told Early Times that in village Thed of Panchayat Letar, there is a Government Primary School which is spread in three kanals of land where the concerned panch carved out a single road to his house by encroaching upon the school land.
The road passes through the school ground. Although local residents sent a letter to the Deputy Commissioner Reasi and CEO Reasi and ZEO regarding this issue but no action was taken by the concerned authorities against the Panch.
They demanded that enquiries should be conducted for the funds released by the block for the construction of the road.
They appealed to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu for intervening into the matter and sought help to get the school's land vacated.
Chief Education Officer Reasi when contacted said that the letter written by the locals should be sent to him and assured that an action will be taken by lodging FIR against the Panch. |
