JAMMU, May 8: Expressing satisfaction over the stepped up efforts of the Lt Governor and his administration to come upto the challenge of Covid-02, after several laxities and initial lapses at various levels and demanded that the cause of more percentage of casualties as compared to the number of infections, in Jammu region, needs to be ascertained to minimize the loss of lives.
JKPCC Chief Spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma while speaking on behalf of the rank and file of the party, said that the senior leaders of the party are in touch with each other taking feedback about the ground situation in different parts while the Covid committee constituted by the JKPCC President G A Mir as per directions of AICC, is closely monitoring the situation and regularly in touch.
The committee members comprising vice President and former minister Raman Bhalla, General Secretaries Th Balwan Singh and Yogesh Sawhney former minister incharge DCC Jammu besides he himself, took stock of situation and said that the recent efforts of the LG administration to cope up with the severe challenge needs to be recognized that it has realized the gravity of the situation, of late and initiated certain necessary measures to improve the handling and dealing with the worsening situation taking toll of precious lives.
The LG and chief secretary would do well if they open more doors of information and inputs about the real situation on the ground than the official or limited channels only, he said, adding that more channels of information would help the higher ups to know the truth as the administration is away from the public representatives especially the opposition, who could have given them the real picture and impartial feedback.
The party leaders and cadres suggested that the government should immediately speed up vaccination of all above 18 years, Sharma added.
He demanded to take the help of army to control the situation well in time including in vaccination and testing process, carrying of patients from far of places and even carrying bodies and their disposal etc.
The party also demanded holding of virtual interactions with representatives of political parties, groups, journalists, Trade, transport and business tourism bodies and social groups and PRI representatives of all levels and at different levels to ensure their involvement and take their inputs and suggestions and active support.
The party lauded the services and role of majority of doctors, health workers and media persons and police, civil administration and others above all the voluntary organizations and individuals as well as our party leaders giving their valuable services.
The party has decided to write to the LG Manoj Sinha putting forth various suggestions received from the various quarters especially the party rank and file, so that necessary measures are taken to control the situation.
