JAMMU, May 14: The J&K unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded relief for the farmers, poor, daily wagers, labourers, transporters, business, industry, media and also sought waiving off electricity bills, waiving off farmers loans and relief for others sectors who are affected due to COVID-19. AAP leader and social activist Gurmeet Singh said that COVID-19 has caused huge financial stress to farmers, poor, daily wagers, labourers, transporters, shopkeepers, businessman, industry, media organizations and others, adding that the AAP J&K is extremely concerned about all those who have been hit hard by the Coronavirus crisis He appealed to the government to provide necessary help to the people of J&K. Singh said that the government should waive off the farmers’ bad loan and specific relief measures for the industry and trade should be taken while at the same time ensuring that the production and jobs are not lost. The restrictions due to COVID-19 were causing terrible financial stress to the poor and the government should extend all possible help to the suffering people of J&K, he added. Singh also demanded that all electricity bills be waived off for three months; waiver of interest payments for next three months and all EMIs to banks be put on hold for three months with no levy of interest on late payment. He appealed to the people to follow the health protocols and all SOPs issued by Government in view of the prevailing situation of the pandemic. |
