GDC Kalakote organizes Online Lecture on “ CURRENT SCENARIO OF HUMANITY”
5/14/2021 11:50:40 PM
Early Times Report

Kalakote, May 14: Literary club of GDC Kalakote organized online Lecture on the topic, CURRENT SCENARIO OF HUMANITY” in commemoration to, “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav”. COVID-19 has affected us all, but not equally. The first wave of COVID-19 pandemic further worsened India’s hunger and malnutrition woes, more so for the millions of informal workers, had to move back home or struggling to meet two ends in their urban and rural homes, multiplying their already entrenched vulnerability. We suffered great loses as a society and before we could revive ourselves back the second wave brought more misery to people of our country. The second wave of coronavirus infections has been spreading fast, which has caught even the medical officials by surprise. But this time, not only humans are dying, somewhere humanity is also dying as well and this is something scarier. No doubt there are instances where people had gone out of the way to help others in this time of crisis but there are also instances where people are seen disowning their own family members after their death due to covid-19 and also people refusing to help their fellow community members to give a proper and dignified burial or cremation to a dead and instances where the black marketing of the lifesaving drugs and oxygen cylinders is caught giving a tight slap on the face of humanity. Thus sensitizing people about this pathetic situation is the need of the hour and it was in this context that GDC Kalakote organized this online Lecture on this sensitive topic. Speaking through an online platform, Principal GDC Kalakote, Dr. Romesh Kr. Gupta talked at length about why is it important to keep the humanity in us alive at this time of Crisis. He further added that disowning our near and dears at such tough time will not help us fight this situation, but helping each other and taking pain to reduce the sufferings of others will surely go a long way in this battle against this deadly virus. Dr. Gupta advised the students to help others around them in whichever way possible so that the humanity can be saved as well when we are trying to save humans. Dr. Romesh kr. Gupta motivated the students to take every possible step to contribute their bit so that we can rise Victorious against this pandemic. He further said that the inhumane behaviour of some people where in parent’s can be seen disowning their two months old baby who died due to Corona virus, children are seen disowning and disrespecting their parents dead bodies and people involving themselves in black-marketing at this time of crisis is really heartbreaking and we are not supposed to portray such image of our society for generations to come. So we should make every effort to understand the sensitivity of the current situation and sensitize others as well. At last Dr. Gupta appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee to organize this programme successfully and giving students a platform to learn a much needed lesson on humanity at this time crisis. The programme ended with the vote of thanks presented by Prof. Marve Sofi (Convener Literary Club) through the online platform.
