Early Times Report

POONCH, Mau 16: An effective covid containment mechanism put in place by district administration coupled with a dedicated team of health workers has greatly helped to avert the spread of the infection in Poonch district. The District is bounded by the Line of Control on three sides and there are only three entry points to the district including BG, Deragali and Mughal road.
The District Administration has strengthened all three entry points and ensured that no one enters the district without getting tested for COVID19 to prevent the infection from the influx entering the district.
As of now, as many as 19789 samples have been collected for RAT testing, while 30509 in BG from April to date, of which as many as 302 have tested positive, which presents a better picture. The District Administration has also ensured the assured supply of the essentials in the district to mitigate the sufferings of the common masses amid the pandemic.
The credit for the fewer cases in the district goes to the team of the officials/ officers of the District Administration particularly those deployed at the entry points as they are working selflessly and tirelessly at the forefront in the fight against this outbreak and serving mankind.
These people are working 24*7 for the welfare of mankind and could not celebrate Eid and other festivals with their families due to their duties in the containment and management of COVID19 in the district.
"The real purpose of Ramadan is to act selflessly for the larger public interest and it is a matter of great pride for me to serve to save the people's lives amid pandemic", said Mohammad Aiyaz Khan, a pharmacist deployed at 24*7 checkpoints BimberGali.
"If the little contribution of service in this pandemic can save someone's life, the purpose of my own life gets fulfilled as there is no bigger service than humanity", said Afraz Rashid, another Lab technician. "Although I couldn't celebrate Eid with my family due to my duty in COVID management, I am still very happy that I could do something for the welfare of mankind and I will celebrate Eid with my family on the day when the CoronaVirus pandemic ends from the world” hoped Anwar Raza, Pharmacist with a smile.
Khalid Hussain, Lab Technician said that this tough time is taking the test of our patience and we all should come together to fight with this invisible enemy of mankind and make serious efforts to mitigate the pandemic in the district."
"Working to save the precious human lives from the deadly Coronavirus gives me an immense feeling of joy and contentment", expressed Nazir Hossain, MMPHW.
Rubia Kouser another health worker echoed similar views when she said, " Don't return the hand to the needy, the hand is giving you, so we should all join together to help the needy as much as we can and mitigate the pandemic in the district by following the COVID appropriate behaviour.”
