| J&K to take on Punjab in U-16 tie today | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 09: The Jammu and Kashmir, represented by Jammu boys, shall take on Punjab in the fourth and last league match of the North Zone under-16 (school) one-day (group-B) tournament for Polly Umrigar Trophy at Una in Himachal Pradesh tomorrow. With just one win, off three outings, against Haryana, J&K has least chances of qualifying the zone. In the second match against Haryana on October five, J&K registered a six-wicket victory. Earlier, J&K group-B team represented by Tawish Scholars School lost to Delhi and Himachal Pradesh in the limited overs games played in Himachal. It is pertinent to mention here that from J&K two teams are taking part in Inter-State (School) Under-16 one-day tournament for Polly Umrigar Trophy introduced by the BCCI this season only. The Group-A is represented by Burn Hall School--winner of inter-school competitions held at Kashmir. |
