Early Times Report

KISHTWAR, May 22: Ampy Singh, Agriculture Extension Officer, Kishtwar who tested COVID positive two weeks back shared his story and experience during his time in home isolation, healing process and full recovery.
While narrating his story he said, "I was working in District COVID-19 Control Cell Kishtwar and two weeks back, when I started to feel drained, warm with a gritty throat, I paused and wandered.”
“Without losing time, I went for COVID test at DC Office Kishtwar whereat it was confirmed that I am positive, and the same day I declared self-isolation and informed my boss accordingly,'' he said
He stated “During self isolation, I was in constant contact with COVID-19 control cell and doctors who suggested me the medicines and all the necessary things to do and the high point was about doing Yogic exercises and taking nutritious food served without any stigma and by week two, fever and other symptoms subsided.”
"I rested and stayed isolated; my immune system treated me by doing the right amount and not overreacting. But equally important was the care with diligence, positivity that I was fortunate to receive at home from my family members- this was truly a blessing,” he shared.
"It isn't about how many symptoms you develop, it's about how you overcome and fight back" he added.
He urged people, "Kindly do not step outside of the house unnecessarily, besides staying indoors, vaccination, wearing a face mask and maintaining social distance in public places, eating a healthy diet and following COVID appropriate behaviour would be the safest option for you now. In case you do contract the virus, keep checking your SpO2 levels. Let those 14-16 days of isolation that you undergo be a time where you heal physically, mentally, and emotionally."
