Books are worth more than gems because gems show outward beauty but books illuminate the inner world of a human being. Nowadays where computers, laptops, internet have provided innumerable facilities to children, books are the jewels that spread the light of knowledge even in the dark. Books cannot be honest friends. To this day, all scholars have loved books.
No one is unaware of the role of books in student life. When a child is young, he is attracted to colorful books. When he opens the book, he steps into a new world. A world in which there is a store of knowledge, as well as entertainment, life lessons, ie human life and centuries of knowledge is hidden. Books are of the greatest importance to a child. It is important to read different types of books at every stage of education. Young children need to be told stories from the book by the parents at bedtime or the teacher should encourage the students to read the biographies of great personalities. Books are forever written on a child’s blank mind, which gives a new definition to his personality.
Assist in intellectual development
Reading books helps children develop intellectually. Books are the only friends who illuminate the darkness in the minds of children from childhood with knowledge. They develop the child’s intellect through knowledge of various facts, discoveries, cultures, cultures. Books develop children’s ability to make new discoveries and make comparative studies.
Development of memory power
Reading books also helps children to remember. When children read books, they form a picture of the story given in the book in their mind and thus they remember it for a long time. Reading every day also increases concentration. Reading as a physical exercise is a mental exercise that enhances a child’s memory.
Expansion of vocabulary
Vocabulary is expanded by reading books. When a child reads books on different subjects, he sees a lot of words that are new to him and he is unaware of their meaning. At that time finding these words in the dictionary is a very interesting activity, with which the mind focuses on the new word. In this way, reading books daily expands a child’s vocabulary.
There is less stress
Books are not only a source of knowledge but also a source of entertainment. Books reduce children’s stress. Books of interesting stories take children on a journey into a new world, with which they become part of an imaginary world and forget the stresses of everyday life.
Increased writing ability
When a child begins to enjoy reading books, not only his reading but also his writing skills increase. Books motivate children to write on different topics. If you read the biographies of famous writers, you will find that every writer has been fond of reading books since childhood.
Helps in personality development
Books are a mirror of society. Books reveal the culture, customs and traditions of the society. When a child reads works from different countries, languages, religions, writers, etc., he develops critical and analytical ideas on many subjects. These ideas help in the development of his own personality and the children become stronger mentally.
Development of imagination
Books not only make children aware of stories or other facts but also increase their imagination. It is their imaginary flight that makes them future writers, scientists, etc. Children’s imagination motivates them to dedicate themselves to a cause like celebrities.
Books are an integral part of our lives. They guide us in the right direction. Books are always a true friend, even when no one is with them.
They help in the intellectual, mental and spiritual development of children as well as in character building. Books full of good ideas, inspiring stories, information from home and abroad help in the bright future of the children of any country.
Let’s take children away from WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. in this age of social media and make them a part of the fascinating world of books.
