DC Kishtwar sets timeline for establishment of 5-bedded Covid Care Centres in all Panchayats

Kishtwar, May 23: To ensure that all the Covid Care Centres in the district are set up in time bound manner so as to effectively and efficiently tackle the pandemic , DC Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today chaired the meeting of the concerned officers here at the conference Hall DC office Complex Mini secretariat Kishtwar.
The meeting was attended by SDM Chatroo Inderjeet Singh Parihar,ASP Kishtwar Rajinder Singh ,ACR Kishtwar Akhter Hussain Qazi, ACD Kishtwar Kishore Singh Katoch, SDM paddar Varunjeet Singh Charak,CMO Kishtwar Dr R S Manhas,Besides all the concerned Tehsildars and BDOs of District Kishtwar were also present in the meeting.
During the meeting a slew of directions were passed to the concerned to strengthen the Covid containment efforts in District.
DC Kishtwar asked all the officers present in the meeting to put in their best efforts and work round-the-clock to ensure a strong rapid response mechanism in order to deal with the emerging situation particularly in the rural areas.
He directed the Tehsildars and BDOs to work in coordination with Health Department to scale-up the rate of vaccination & testing in their respective jurisdiction and effective management of Covid Care Centres established in their respective jurisdictions.
He asked Sub -Divisional Magistrates to appoint Tehsildars and the BDOs as the Nodal officers who shall look after the vaccination and testing and will make all out efforts to maximize the testing for areas with high positivity rate.
He further directed to fix vaccination & testing targets for Tehsildars and BDOs.
While reviewing the tehsil-wise status of preparations being made to contain the spread of Corona virus, DC Kishtwar set timelines for establishment of 5-bedded Covid Care Centres in all respects at each panchayat across District.
He directed for prioritizing far flung areas for establishing these centres, besides ensuring availability of all requisite facilities for the patients including proper ventilation, beds, oxygen support, necessary medical kits, linkage with nearest healthcare centres, referral linkage with dedicated Covid health centres & hospitals, availability of tele-medicine facilities, power backup and other basic facilities.
"As the government is decentralizing the Covid management, which is essential for effective and efficient public healthcare system,hence our focus should be on strengthening primary health care in rural areas" ,said DC Kishtwar.
DC asked ACD Kishtwar to lay a comprehensive mechanism for monitoring the operationalization of Covid care centres in Panchayats.
Laying special stress on proper training of ASHA and Anganwadi workers, besides mobilizing PRIs & volunteers and utilizing funds for effective management of Covid care centres at panchayat level,DC directed CMO Kishtwar to proactively engage in functioning of these Covid care facilities.
DC further underlined the need for spreading massive awareness regarding the following of COVID19 appropriate behaviour besides educating the people on when to seek medical attention.
He ensured that proper coordination,cooperation and management would go a long way to contain the further spread.
