Give relaxation in curfew to non-essential goods traders: Sham Lal Langar
5/26/2021 11:15:21 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, May 26: Sham Lal Langar, Convener BJP Trade and Industries Cell, J&K on Wednesday asked the Government to give relief to traders dealing with non-essential goods on the lines of those trading the essential items.
In a statement issued here he said, “With the corona curfew extended till May 31, restlessness amongst traders dealing with non-essential goods is increasing across the region. Businessmen other than those dealing with essentials are demanding for a relaxation to open their shops, to find some relief after suffering losses in the lockdown”.
Langar said that the demand raised by the aforesaid traders is genuine as their families are facing numerous hardships on account of endless corona curfew which has pushed these businessmen towards the wall due to colossal losses which they have incurred during the lockdown period.
The senior BJP leader said that these traders have supported the government in the fight against Covid but due to unavoidable circumstances they now need some support from the government. “Vegetable and grocery shops are open from 6 AM to 11 AM. Similarly, the government can allow these traders to open shops for a different time slot. This will provide a lot of help to the aforesaid community of the business class,” Langar said, adding that the shops in Ware House should be given some more time to open their shops as it is necessary to give time to retailers for replenishing their stocks. “This extension should be extended from the current 11 AM to 1 PM daily”, he added.
The senior BJP leader said, “It is anybody’s guess that situation in the region is quite critical due to second wave of corona wreaking havoc but never ending lockdown is also problematic for people because after such a long time of closure of nonessential goods shops people have become bereft of many things which comes under prime necessity like soaps, shampoos, etc and therefore revisiting the decision to open these shops is quite important”.
