SRINAGAR, June 3: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 88.28 percent as 2,694 virus affected patients recovered in the past 24 hours. The union territory reported 1,801 new cases while 29 fresh deaths were reported during the same period of time. Srinagar district reported 329 cases followed by Budgam district 194 cases, Jammu district 153 cases, Baramulla district 148 cases, Pulwama district 143 cases, Kupwara district 126 cases, Anantnag district 100 cases, Rajouri district 92 cases, Kulgam district 76 cases, Ganderbal and Doda districts 67 cases each, Ramban district 56 cases, Poonch district 55 cases, Bandipora district 52 cases, Kathua district 46 cases, Udhampur district 27 cases, Kishtwar district 25 cases, Reasi district 18 cases, Samba district 15 cases and Shopian district 12 cases. Jammu district reported seven fresh deaths of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar district five deaths, Anantnag district four deaths, Kathua and Budgam districts two deaths each and Samba, Rajouri, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Reasi, Pulwama, Kupwara & Shopian districts one death each. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 1,801 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 554 from Jammu division and 1,247 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 2, 95,879. Also 29 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, 15 from Jammu division and 14 from Kashmir division. Moreover, 2,694 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 886 from Jammu division and 1,808 from Kashmir division. Out of 2, 95,879 positive cases, 30,657 are active positive, 2, 61,230 have recovered and 3,992 have died; 1,947 in Jammu division and 2,045 in Kashmir division. Out of 86, 97,398 test results available, 84, 01,519 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 21, 13,730 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 81,418 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 30,657 in isolation and 1, 45,675 in home surveillance. Besides, 18, 51,988 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 66,116 positive cases, 3,689 active positive, 61,641 recovered, 786 deaths; Baramulla has 21,738 positive cases, 2,460 active positive, 19,017 recovered, 261 deaths; Budgam has 20,748 positive cases, 1,838 active positive, 18,728 recovered, 182 deaths; Anantnag has 14,841 positive cases, 3,553 active positive, 11,117 recovered, 171 deaths; Pulwama has 13,542 positive cases, 2,176 active positive, 11,194 recovered, 172 deaths. “Kupwara has 12,394 positive cases, 1,494 active positive, 10,752 recovered, 148 deaths; Kulgam has 10,100 positive cases, 1,420 active positive, 8,574 recovered, 106 deaths; Ganderbal has 8,925 positive cases, 1,066 active positive, 7,790 recovered, 69 deaths; Bandipora has 8,603 positive cases, 729 active positive, 7,780 recovered, 94 deaths and Shopian has 5,373 positive cases, 1,099 active positive, 4,218 recovered, 56 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 51,215 positive cases, 4,815 active positive, 45,315 recovered, 1,085 deaths; Udhampur has 10,723 positive cases, 505 active positive, 10,092 recovered, 126 deaths; Rajouri has 9,909 positive cases, 962 active positive, 8,758 recovered, 189 deaths; Kathua has 8,876 positive cases, 344 active positive, 8,395 recovered, 137deaths; Samba has 6,832 positive cases, 1,029 active positive, 5,690 recovered, 113 deaths. “Doda has 5,903 positive cases, 1,097 active positive, 4,715 recovered, 91 deaths; Reasi has 5,354 positive cases, 397 active positive, 4,919 recovered, 38 deaths; Poonch has 5,384 positive cases, 953 active positive, 4,352 recovered, 79 deaths; Ramban has 5,232 positive cases, 778 active positive, 4,400 recovered, 54 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,071 positive cases, 253 active positive, 3,783 recovered, 35 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 2, 95,879 positive cases, 21,643 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
