Police challaned 1357 vehicles for traffic violations, Rs 4 lakh for mask violations in May | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, June 5: Taking strong note of traffic and COVID-19 violations, Kishtwar Police challaned traffic 1357 vehicles for traffic, lockdown violations while as many as 1497 people were challaned for mask violation during lockdown and released approximately Rs. 4 lakh as fine from the violators in May. As per the details available with Early Times, Kishtwar police laid Nakas at various places including Bus Stand, Om Mehta Chowk, Dak Banglow Chowk and at other places and booked the traffic violators. Similarly people who were seen roaming without mask in the market were fined for that mask violation since the wearing of mask has been made compulsory. Speaking to Early Times a senior police official informed that people allowed to move under essential services doesn’t mean that they will violate the traffic norms and regulations. “Let people follow the law of the land— if people obey the traffic rules— automatically the number of challans will be less” said the official adding that the challan for traffic violation and mask violation will remain continue round the clock and advised the people not to come unnecessarily out of their homes to avoid challan. |
