EARLY TIMES REPORT

AKHNOOR, June 7: The Congress party has castigated the Bharatiya Janata Party for its failure on all fronts including sky-rocketing prices of essentials as well as building materials and last but not the least in management of vaccination campaigns during the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. The party came down heavily on the BJP accusing it of making false promises before elections during a Block Congress Committee, Akhnoor, meeting held here today through virtual mode that was arranged by the Congress leader Satish Sharma, the son of late Congress MP Madan Lal Sharma. The meeting was presided over by Hari Singh Chib, President District Congress Committee, Jammu Rural.
During the detailed deliberations in the meeting, the party workers highlighted the issues of skyrocketing prices of construction material and overall inflation and unemployment besides the uncertainty of conducting classes and holding examinations in the education sector amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Satish Sharma while expressing serious concern over the issues said that so far as the problem of common people due to exorbitant prices of construction material is concerned, it is the result of arbitrary decision of the administration imposing a ban on its extraction besides its failure to come up with a just and genuine mining policy for this Union Territory.
President, DCC Jammu Rural, while addressing the meeting, seriously took the BJP to task asserting that the saffron party has miserably failed to resolve the common people's issues on ground.
The senior Congress leader said that the people are in dire straits today and in such a situation the Congress party needs to strengthen the party base at grass roots level to resolve the problems of common masses which have increased manifold. He assured that he will be available 24x7 for the party workers as well as the general public to address their concerning issues.
Among those who attended the virtual meeting include Bachan Singh, Block President; Om Prakash President Block Congress Committee; Gian Singh Vice President BCC; Hazora Singh; Kuldeep Sharma, Baldev Raj, Mahal Lal, Ram Aasra, Rahil Sharma, Ravi Kumar, Bhutto Verma, Madan Lal, Sanjeev Kumar, Babu Ram, Bunty Kumar, Ranbir Singh Chetan and Bharat Bhushan.
