Covid Care Center Pateli: Beds without mattresses, no electricity, water
6/10/2021 12:04:07 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, June 9: The Covid Care Center (CCC) set up at Pateli falling under Panchayat Daraj-B in Kotranka in Rajouri district has no facilities.
According to the details available with Early Times the beds set up in the centre have no mattresses, bed sheets and pillows. There is no electricity and water and the washrooms are in dilapidated condition.
The Covid Care Center has been set up inside the premises of Government Middle School. “Authorities have put beds without mattresses in a dingy room of the school and we have been told that it’s a CCC. No patient can be admitted in this so-called CCC. It's a big joke. How can a person survive without electricity and water in such humid conditions,” locals told Early Times. They said that the administration should stop befooling the people on the name of these centers and take adequate steps to handle the Covid cases in the area.
It’s in place to mention here that the government has sanctioned Rs 1 lakh for each panchayat to set up CCCs for the people living in far flung areas. The centers need to have 5-beds, oxygen cylinder and medical staff but CCCs at many places have been set up without basic facilities.
